Back in October, I showed you a wonderful couple who were expecting a baby.  Well, here he is.  And what a sweet baby he is.  Don’t tell my hubby, but this little one gave me baby fever in a bad way.

And this one with his sweet little yawn!  I could just eat him up!

Be on the lookout for more pictures of this little one.  I am going to see if Mom will let me come over for a few more shots.  He is just too cute for only one session.

Wow!  What a weekend it has been.  I had the chance to come to Chicago for a wonderful workshop with Me Ra and Brian of Me Ra Koh Photography. (Thank you Kelly!!!)  I was told before I attended this workshop that it was more than just a photography workshp and whoever said that was absolutely right!!  I learned more about myself this weekend than I learned about the technical workings of my camera (although I did learn a ton about the technical side of things).  It really got me thinking of why I am on this journey as a photographer and what that means for my future.  So, enough of the deep stuff, let’s see some pictures, right?

We had live models come in yesterday.  We were in the beautiful Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue.  Outside the doors of the place where we met was a beautiful courtyard.  We assumed that we would be using this natural lit room next to the courtyard for our pictures.  Well, the weather of Chicago did not cooperate with us and there was not enough light in that room for the shoot.  (Although I am wondering if Me Ra knew this would be the case all along.)  To say that the room we ended up in was a challenge would be a true understatement.  I believe Me Ra is going to post a picture of the room on her blog.  I will link over to it when she does.  It was just awful!  I thought, ‘How are we ever going to get any good shots of these beautiful babies when all we had to work with was regular incandescent light?’  I gained so much from this experience and I didn’t even realize it until today.  We shared our favorite two images from the shoot and it was amazing to see all of the beautiful shots captured in that less-than-ideal room.  Here are the two shots I shared with the group.

Really I could go on and on about how wonderful this weekend was.  I really can’t thank Kelly enough for nominating me and for Me Ra and Brian for allowing me the opportunity to come.  It was life-changing and I will forever be grateful to them.

I had the pleasure of photographing the sweetest family this evening.  I told Mom that I probably wouldn’t get to these until after I return from my trip to Chicago this weekend.  But when I downloaded the pictures, I knew I couldn’t resist offering Mom and Dad a sneak peak.  So, here are a few of the many great pictures we got from the session.  I hope this holds you over until I get back…

Heather and I have been friends since we were in Kindergarten.  I know that is hard to believe in this day and age that two people would stay friends for so long, but we have.  I love going back to Oklahoma to visit with her and her family.  I had the privelege this last time of taking pictures of her sweet family.

Her boys are so much fun to be around.  They are very sweet and since both of their parents are photographers, they are not shy around the camera.  This is my favorite picture of Coy from the day.

We thought it would be fun to try some different things.  As you can see, Coy did not like this one bit.

I love it when clients have a good time during a session.  It really shines through in great pictures.  We told Derek to touch Valerie’s belly for this shot and this is what we got…

I love that my friends are so supportive of my business and love it even more when they trust me with their family pictures.  I had the pleasure of taking pictures of my friend, Sue, and her family.  They are a beautiful family and it was a beautiful day…

Sue’s father, Honey, was such a trooper and took a stroll to the beach with us so we could capture some shots of him…

Since starting my photography business (www.justclickphotography.com) with my friend, Linde, it seems I spend a crazy amount of time going through other photographers’ blogs.  So, I decided it was time to start my own photography blog in the hopes that someday other newbies will be stalking me.  We shall see.  So here goes…
